Summary
Charlotte and Leo, once lovers, were torn apart by Charlotte’s betrayal. Many years later, Leo returns from war, now blind, and—by royal decree—is forced to marry Charlotte.
“You must be feeling quite nostalgic, seeing me like this,” Leo sneered after the silence stretched too long. His tone cut as much at himself as at her, forcing Charlotte to muster her courage to respond.
“…It’s been a long time,” she said softly, though her voice faltered.
She wanted to call his name—Leo—but even that felt like too much. Instead, she buried her trembling lips in her hands, struggling to maintain her composure.
As their unstable marriage unfolds, Leo gradually uncovers the truths Charlotte has long kept hidden. Secrets that could either break them further—or mend what once was shattered.
