I Became the Omega in a Game - Chapter 36
Raymond once again sent the doctor away today without gaining any meaningful results. The doctor, wearing white gloves, carefully examined his precious manhood with wrinkled eyes, scrutinizing it for a long time. But once again, the only response he received was the unsatisfactory conclusion that there was nothing wrong.
Young doctors, old doctors—it didn’t matter. Their diagnosis was always the same: no issues, perfectly healthy, overflowing with vitality. In other words, even if he kept chasing women well into his eighties, he wouldn’t have to worry about running dry.
But Raymond couldn’t agree with them. If his lower half was truly as robust as they claimed, then why did he remain completely unresponsive even when ogling the maids he once found sexy or the sultry beauties of exclusive clubs? Unless he had somehow become a monk overnight, this was impossible. No, if anything, he was the kind of man who could get hard at the mere sight of a white veil in a monastery.
Raymond could still stand at full attention just fine for Riche, but he was nonetheless worried about the unusual state of his lower half. If it wasn’t a curse or an illness, was it due to the imprinting phenomenon after all? Did that mean he was bound to a single woman forever?
The mere thought sent a wave of horror through him, draining the color from his face. Sure, Riche was an incredibly satisfying woman, but that was beside the point. Being tied to only one woman? That was an idea utterly unacceptable to Raymond, who had always envisioned himself as a free-spirited butterfly, flitting from one flower to another until his dying breath. And yet, the worst part was that this was a one-sided bond.
In a moment of frustration, he had even brought up marriage with Riche—half-seriously. But she seemed skeptical about the idea, which both hurt his pride and deepened his distrust of his own body. Lately, he found himself thinking about her more and more, even catching himself absentmindedly climbing into a carriage bound for Queen while lost in thought during his walks.
Maybe if his supposedly “broken” lower half started functioning properly again, he could at least shake off some of this unease. But so far, he had no luck. Even trying medications meant for men with erectile dysfunction had no effect. If anything, it only made things worse—when he was with Riche, the problem wasn’t getting it up; it was getting it to go down, even after half a day.
Sighing, Raymond stood up, glanced at the clock, and reached for his hat—only to freeze mid-motion. Out of habit, he had been checking the time for his usual trip to Queen.
This can’t go on.
Forcing himself to stay put, he sat back down on the bed, arms crossed, his expression growing darker by the minute. But just as he was about to give in and stand up again, a knock sounded at the door.
“Come in.”
Assuming it was his butler, Raymond didn’t even look up—until a sweet fragrance drifted into the room the moment the door opened. He turned his head just in time to see Idelli enter, wearing a radiant smile.
“Ray.”
“You’re letting outsiders in without permission now? Has my butler lost his mind?”
“Don’t blame him. He let me in because he knows what’s between us.”
“…So what do you want?”
Idelli tilted her head, curious about his stiff posture, then walked over and sat beside him on the bed. As she did, the delicate scent of a dominant Omega’s pheromones subtly teased Raymond’s senses. Even though he was imprinted, that didn’t mean he was completely numb to pheromones, and he instinctively twitched his nose in response.
“Why didn’t you come to the party last night? I personally sent you an invitation.”
“I was busy.”
Busy rolling around in bed with Riche at Queen.
Idelli’s expression soured slightly at his blunt response, but unlike usual, she didn’t lash out in irritation. Curious about her uncharacteristic restraint, Raymond stole a sideways glance at her. She looked… melancholic. Her delicate brows drooped slightly, giving her an air of sorrowful beauty. Normally, she was a woman who embodied the fiery allure of a rose, but now she seemed more like a misty, fragile baby’s breath. And surprisingly, that look suited her more than he would have thought.
“You should have come. I told you I had something important to say.”
“What is it?”
“……”
“Say it here.”
Raymond decided—it was best not to go to Queen today. He couldn’t let himself be dragged around like this. He needed to remind them of his worth.
Just as he was thinking that, Idelli gently grasped his sleeve. Her touch was so delicate, so unlike her usual self, that when Raymond glanced down at her pale, elegant fingers, he couldn’t hide his discomfort. She was acting strangely, and while it confused him, he also felt a slight flutter in his chest.
Idelli was usually a strong-willed woman, and Raymond had always found himself softening whenever she showed vulnerability.
“I felt lonely without you, Ray.”
“There were plenty of other men there, weren’t there?”
“I was alone last night.”
“What?”
Idelli met his gaze directly.
“I only sent an invitation to you.”
Raymond tried to recall the invitation he had barely glanced at before tossing aside. He wasn’t sure about the details, but he did remember that the party had been scheduled for a late hour—perfect for a drink after dinner. And if a woman invited a man to a private gathering at that time, the implications were obvious.
Realizing this, Raymond hesitated, and Idelli’s expression grew even more sorrowful.
“What are you—”
Just as he moved to stand up, something unexpected happened.
Soft lips pressed against his.
His eyes widened in shock. At first, he assumed it was just another one of her usual teasing games and instinctively moved to push her away. But as if she had anticipated it, she leaned in even closer, deepening the kiss. Her lips rubbed against his more insistently, filled with an unfamiliar desperation.
Raymond’s heart pounded.
He had always known her as proud and composed, but now, she felt urgent, almost desperate. His trained hands instinctively found their way to her soft curves, and as he grabbed hold of her chest, she let out a delicate moan.
“Ah…”
The sound was impossibly sultry.
Something primal stirred within Raymond—both as an Alpha and as a man. His grip tightened.
That day, just as he had resolved, he didn’t go to Queen.
* * *
“Raymond hasn’t been coming around lately. Didn’t he used to visit all the time?”
“Kairo hasn’t been here either. I was always nervous about those two showing up on the same day.”
“Oh, come on. They’re brothers. It’s not like they’d actually pull out swords on each other.”
“They totally would.”
“Wait, really?”
“Wanna bet a gold coin on it?”
“Ugh, you just want to take my money. You already make good tips!”
During their break, the club employees lounged around, sipping coffee and chatting. Riche sat among them, quietly drinking her own coffee without joining the conversation.
“Hey, did you hear?”
A male Omega, known for being quick with gossip, lowered his voice. His eyes practically begged the others to ask him what he meant.
“Hear what?”
“The reason Sir Raymond Strigo hasn’t been coming to the club.”
“How would I know?”
“Riche, do you know anything?”
Riche looked up.
Not just the one who had asked—the entire group was staring at her intently.
“Huh?”
“Sir Strigo only ever asked for you whenever he came here.”
“I wouldn’t know,” Riche replied indifferently.
The employee who had asked clicked his tongue in disappointment, but the male Omega who had first brought up the topic waved his hand as if he had expected that response.
“Of course you wouldn’t. Most people wouldn’t.”
“Oh? And you’re saying you know?”
“Obviously. I’m not most people. Ever heard of Renellin, the information king?”
“Enough with the suspense. Just spill it already.”
“Who’s the Omega that Raymond Strigo has been pursuing for years?”
“Who else? Idelli Grace.”
“Exactly. And all that effort has finally paid off.”
“……!”
“What? Are you serious?”
“Raymond Strigo and Idelli Grace?”
Everyone gasped in shock. Seeing their reactions, the gossipy Omega nodded proudly.
“Word is, Sir Strigo hasn’t left the duke’s estate in over a week. He’s probably still at it, going at it like there’s no tomorrow.”
“……No way.”
“It’s very possible.”
The Omega chuckled like he was sharing the juiciest gossip in the world. Riche remained impassive, quietly absorbing the conversation. Her icy blue gaze shifted slightly.
Across the room, Mikhail sat stiff-faced.
“So Idelli Grace has finally decided to accept Raymond Strigo as her true devoted follower!”
“Hah. Unbelievable. After all that effort, this is how it ends?”
“Oh, right! Zenon was aiming for Strigo too, wasn’t he?”
“H-Hey, no I wasn’t!”
“Yeah, sure. You totally weren’t craning your neck for news about him just now.”
As their coworkers teased each other, Renellin leaned in conspiratorially and whispered, “He’s been holed up in her estate for over a week. Just imagine how much they’re doing it. And I mean, we know they’re both experts in bed. Can you even fathom the kind of mind-blowing sex that must be happening? I’d bet my entire fortune just to watch.”
“Ha! Your entire fortune? You barely have enough to your name.”
Suddenly, Mikhail shot up from his seat.
The chatty Omega looked up at him, bewildered. “What’s your problem?”
“Quit your useless gossiping and get lost. Break time’s over.”
With that, Mikhail stormed out of the break room, leaving behind an awkward silence.
Renellin, looking both annoyed and amused, shrugged. “What’s his deal?”
“Who knows? No one can predict that temper of his.”
While the others brushed it off, Elza—who had been sitting close to Riche—muttered under her breath, “I knew it.”
Riche turned to her.
Catching her gaze, Elza smirked knowingly.
“He can’t stand hearing about Idelli Grace. Am I right? Lately, he’s even been acting distant around Janice Borchin. So now, hearing about Idelli’s little romance must’ve really set him off.”
So obvious. And yet, Elza can be so oblivious in other ways.
Riche, the only one who truly understood Mikhail’s feelings, simply smiled in silence.
Unlike him, she felt nothing upon hearing about Raymond. If anything, she found it a little surprising.
He seemed to like me quite a bit, yet he switched so easily.
It wasn’t arrogance. His expressions, gestures, tone of voice, the way he looked at her—everything about his behavior toward her suggested otherwise. This wasn’t like him.
But now it was clear: Raymond’s heart was as fickle as the wind. His reputation as the social scene’s infamous troublemaker wasn’t undeserved.
The lack of contact was odd, but if Renellin’s words were to be believed, Raymond was too preoccupied with Idelli to even spare a thought for anyone else. The rumors were intriguing. If she could watch them together, she would be the one willing to wager her entire fortune—not that it was any more impressive than Renellin’s.
Now then, what will Idelli do?
Now that she had Raymond in her grasp, would she leave Riche alone?
Unlikely.
More than likely, she’d try to eliminate her immediately.
She never struck me as the patient type.
At that moment, Elza muttered, “By the way, what’s going on with Count Strigo?”
Pulled from her thoughts, Riche replied without thinking.
“He was deployed.”
