Rut Fever - Chapter 8
Asha, seemingly thinking the same thing as me, sighed deeply enough to make the ground sink, then leaned back completely against the chair and continued his explanation.
“You know about the birth of the Navi. That dragon’s magic stone powder that turned you into human form, it’s not stored in your body forever. In simple terms, it evaporates.”
The notes Asha showed me also contained information about the magic stone powder. It said that a cat who ate it gained the ability to turn into a human.
If it evaporates instead of being preserved, does that mean I won’t be able to maintain my human form?
Although frustrated, I decided to listen quietly to Asha’s calm explanation.
“The magic stone powder will probably run out of your bodies soon. Then you’ll turn back into cats. I don’t know when that will be. However, one more problem has arisen as a result.”
What is it? Ugh, frustrating. Tell me quickly. Where did all the excitement you had when you were tormenting me yesterday go?
“I don’t know why, but we’ve concluded that it’s a side effect of taking the magic stone powder. Currently, Navi women cannot get pregnant. Whether the partner is human or Navi, no matter which man they have relations with.”
“You can’t get pregnant?”
I couldn’t just listen quietly to that. In the future I had imagined, our child was always present in a harmonious family with Robel.
I was surprised that I asked back in surprise, and quickly shut my mouth again. I glanced at Asha, wondering if I had bothered him again. Fortunately, there was no change in Asha’s firm expression as he looked at the lake.
“Currently, I am receiving separate reports from two Navi women. One of them already has a grown son, so I assume it’s a natural menopause due to aging. However, the other is a healthy and young woman who is fully capable of getting pregnant, and she has five Navi men by her side and has relations with them, but she is not getting pregnant at all.”
Five men? What is it, polyandry? Is that possible?
I recalled the pleasure of sex I had briefly felt yesterday and started imagining things. It ended almost before it started, but honestly, it felt good. From the moment Asha touched me, the heat and pain that had been tormenting me subsided.
What would it feel like to do that with five people? Would that be love? If they’re trying to have a child somehow because they can’t get pregnant, would that be happiness?
“There is a way. We have obtained the dragon’s magic stone powder, and we need to experiment to see if taking the magic stone powder again will allow you to get pregnant again.”
“…Do you need me for that experiment?”
“That’s right. I asked the other Navi woman to experiment, but she’s the daughter of a very prominent noble family, and the man who is her husband and the men who assist her are all strongly opposed, so I can’t even touch her.”
I heard that there is a Duke’s family that has become famous along with the fact that His Highness the Crown Prince is a Navi. I heard that the second generation of that Duke’s family is also Navi. In the first place, that family is in such a great position that no one can easily touch them.
“So, you’re going to experiment on me to see if I can get pregnant after taking the magic stone powder. Grasping at straws.”
“You understand quickly. I thought you were stupid, but you’re surprisingly smart.”
Is that a compliment or an insult? Anyway, I don’t know why he can’t get close to me because he always talks like that.
“I’m quite bright. Thank you for recognizing that. But why are you explaining this to me? I don’t have the right to refuse anyway, do I?”
“Do you dream of being a slave?”
“No?”
“Who says you don’t have the right to refuse? I asked for your consent from the beginning, and you accepted it. I brought you here purely to protect you, and I don’t think I forced you to study the heat, did I?”
Unlike before, Asha’s voice and tone were full of annoyance. Is he annoyed to explain? I don’t know why he’s reacting so sensitively, so I felt unnecessarily intimidated.
“That’s right. I misspoke. I’m sorry, High Priest.”
I apologized right away, and this time he was just huffing and puffing alone, venting his anger on the weeds on the floor.
The more I see him, the more uncomfortable he is. It’s even more so because I can’t figure out his personality.
I know I have to be obedient, but I’m also the problem because I keep being sarcastic because his actions are annoying. Honestly, I’m not in a position to talk back to someone who is the High Priest.
I gave a more serious apology with a very apologetic expression and sincerity.
“I am lacking in learning and short-sighted, so I am very sorry for bothering you every time. If I make a mistake, please feel free to scold me at any time. I will gladly accept it.”
“Yeah, right.”
That annoying mouth. Have I only lived being deceived? I can’t believe people’s words, but I can’t trust myself either, so I have nothing to say. I don’t have the ability to hold back the words that come out without going through my brain.
Anyway, my mouth is the problem. I need to save my words.
“I will try my best. So that it won’t be a lie. Shall we continue our conversation then?”
In fact, so many stories came at once that I couldn’t even remember what we had just talked about. Only one thing, the more I learned about the Navi, the more I resented my parents, whom I didn’t even know.
Not much, just a little. Just a little bit.
“So, to summarize what you said, High Priest, I have to eat that magic stone powder in order to give birth to His Highness the Crown Prince’s heir, but you can’t guarantee it’s safe and there may be side effects, so you’re telling me to choose, is that right?”
“I think the order is wrong, but let’s just say that’s right.”
What’s wrong with the order? It’s the same thing.
Anyway, my ordinary life that I had imagined is gone. This life is ruined, so I have no choice but to look forward to the next life.
Of course, that’s another problem from having to give birth to the Crown Prince’s heir in my womb. Even if I have a child, it will eventually be taken away by the Crown Prince and his wife, whom I don’t even know.
But all of that is a problem to consider after taking the magic stone powder and becoming able to get pregnant. If I can’t get pregnant anyway, even the ordinary family I’ve dreamed of will collapse.
And if my life is in danger after taking it, I won’t be able to make any challenges.
“Then what rewards will I get if I accept that offer?”
“You’ll be able to have everything you want.”
“You’re not going to kill me without anyone knowing, are you?”
Any nobleman in the world said that if they make a secret offer with a big reward, you should never accept it if you value your life. He said that for them to take the life of a commoner is as light as picking up a spoon to eat soup.
The offer I received was to bear the seed of the royal family. Even if everything goes well as expected, the child may want to find his birth mother in the future. Then, it was judged that they might not spare my existence, which would shake the authority of the imperial family.
I’d be upset if I was just used and killed.
So, I thought it would be easier to make a decision if I got confirmation from the High Priest, so I threw the words out, and Asha’s face twisted horribly. I felt like my heart was shrinking at the fierce look in his eyes, as if daring to mention death in front of him.
“Who’s going to kill you?”
“Ah, no… I was just asking if that could happen. I didn’t have any other intentions…”
It was scary enough to perfectly understand the meaning of the words that you could kill someone with your eyes. Why is he getting angry whenever I say something since earlier? Do men have that day too?
Asha turned his head back to the front and glared fiercely at the lake, then nervously swept his hair back with his hand.
“I told you. The Navi are to be protected. No one can dare to control your life. Touch a Navi that I, the High Priest, am protecting? They can do that if they want to have their necks cut off.”
Does he have to say that my life will be safe no matter what like he’s chewing it up? Well, at least it’s reliable, so I don’t doubt it.
Me, protected by the High Priest…
It sounds plausible, but ‘me, the High Priest’s toy’ is more fitting. If yesterday hadn’t happened, I would have believed those words as they were.
I barely held back the snort that was about to come out and clasped my hands together, giving Asha an impressed look.
“The protection of the eminent High Priest is so trustworthy. I’m touched!”
“Stop saying things you don’t mean.”
“Ah, yes.”
He seems to be more perceptive than I thought. I shouldn’t overdo it in the future.
If I can have anything I want, does that mean my marriage to Robel is also guaranteed? Robel also knows all of this, and I don’t think it’s just my unrequited love from the first time we met.
Well, even if Robel says he doesn’t like it, there’s nothing I can’t do if I push him. What can he do to refuse the orders of the royal family or the High Priest?
“I’ve decided. I’ll do it. Everything.”
There’s no need to worry about it. Above all, I had no intention of enduring that heat alone. If sex is the only thing that can calm it down, then Asha is my insurance. Although he’s an unlucky boss, I’m the one who needs him right now.
Above all, I also need information about the Navi.
So, the decision was easy. However, Asha seemed a little surprised that I accepted it so easily.
“Really?”
“It’s not like you’re going to let me go if I say no. I’m also a citizen of the Empire and a Navi. I also know that if His Highness the Crown Prince is dethroned in the worst case, the Navi will have no future, right?”
Asha looked at me with an expression that said, ‘You’re quite something?’ From the looks of it, he didn’t think I would cooperate like this.
What can I do when the choice is so skewed? I’ve come to realize that I can’t live an ordinary life anymore.
“Then what do I have to do now?”
Since I’m going to do it anyway, I want to finish it quickly and live a second life. The game is over once I finally carry and give birth to the Crown Prince’s seed. I wish I could eat that magic stone powder today.
Unlike my anxiousness, Asha was silently staring into the air, lost in deep thought.
He’s definitely pretty and has delicate features for a man. His silver hair is also sparkling, and his long gray eyelashes and the darkened purple eyes below them are in harmony, making him more beautiful than the lake.
If he just keeps his mouth shut, he exudes a mysterious atmosphere that catches the eye, but unlike his appearance, his mouth is quite rough, which breaks the mood.
‘So, God is fair. If he’s pretty and has a good personality, I wouldn’t be able to live because I’d be so upset.’
I thought I’d get an earful if I kept staring at him, so I pretended to look at the lake and rolled my eyes to take a peek.
But what is he worried about? Is it because I’m not fit to carry the seed of the royal family? I don’t have the elegant dignity of a noble, so I have nothing to say.
I chose to wait quietly rather than bother the quiet Asha and get scolded. Just when I thought my butt was going to hurt because the chair I was sitting on was too hard, Asha’s question came in suddenly.
“How’s your body? Are you okay?”
Body? Ah, is he asking because I suffered from a high fever yesterday?
I shrugged my shoulders and clenched my fists.
“I’m completely fine. I slept well last night.”
“…I see.”
Then silence again. It became awkward because the conversation kept being cut off suddenly after we were having a good time. So, what am I going to do in the future? I want to ask first, but I couldn’t bring myself to open my mouth.
While I was sitting on pins and needles, unable to keep my legs still in the dress, Asha got up from his seat without a word and walked back towards the mansion.
“Ah! Let’s go together, High Priest!”
He was going faster than when we came, so I gathered the hem of my dress and held it in my arms, almost running after him, worried that I would trip over the cumbersome dress and fall. Then Asha, who had entered the mansion’s entrance, suddenly stopped, and I stopped in my place as well.
“Go into your room and stay there quietly. Don’t wander around.”
“Me?”
“Who else is here besides you?”
I thought he was talking to the passing priests. He’s so prickly.
“Aren’t I going to eat the magic stone powder?”
“I don’t have it on hand right now. I’ll have to send for it, so it’ll take some time. Until then, you better brace yourself.”
Asha, having delivered his ominous warning, turned and left for his room without a backward glance. I scratched my cheek with a finger, offered awkward smiles to the passing priests, and then climbed the stairs to my own room.
“Tch, I wanted to take a lap around the lake…”
It’s not like he said, ‘The weather’s nice, go do what you want.’ Telling me to stay in my room is too much. There’s nothing to do in my room anyway. All I can do is open the window, get some fresh air, and just space out.
I’m bored.
So I sat on the long sofa, twisting and turning, fidgeting in every position, until I started to doze off. My stomach was full, and a warm breeze was blowing, so I couldn’t resist the drowsiness and drifted off to sleep.
And then I had a strange dream.
[Hngh… Aah…!]
I was wandering in the cozy darkness of a deep sleep.
A strange, suggestive moan reached my ears in my sleep, which was quite irritating. It was a woman’s voice. A seductive cry echoed incessantly from beyond the wall, making my face slightly contort.
Is someone getting laid in the mansion? Aren’t they being too loud about it?
I was told that only priests reside in this mansion. So, is one of these supposedly chaste priests unable to resist their lust and doing such a thing?
Curious to know who it was, I abruptly opened my eyes. The moment I did, my vision spun, and I staggered.
“Ugh!”
I barely managed to grab the wall and regain my balance. My head and vision were dizzy, making me feel nauseous.
Why is this happening? I don’t even have low blood pressure.
[Haa, huh! Ah, aah—!]
Even as I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to calm my churning stomach and regain my senses, the lewd moans continued. It sounded like they were about to lose their breath.
But to make sounds of such ecstatic pleasure, the other person must have incredible skills or a huge penis. The memory of Asha giving me dizzying pleasure with just a penis model flashed through my mind, and my back shivered.
Did I moan like that too? I don’t really remember what I did back then, so I don’t know.
Along with the incessant moans, the dizziness gradually subsided. I slowly opened my eyes and refocused my blurred vision, but then I sensed something was off.
“Where… am I?”
It was a place I had never seen before. A dark, gloomy place. At least the light emanating from a rusty candlestick on the wall prevented it from being completely black.
The place was entirely made of stone, like a cave. I felt a chill reaching deep into my bones, so I hugged myself tightly. Was it because no sunlight entered this place?
At the end of a long, seemingly endless corridor, one of the several iron doors was slightly ajar. The moans I had been hearing were flowing out through the gap in that door.
Though confused by the sudden change of scenery, I was curious about what was happening inside that prison-like iron door. I moved silently, careful not to make a sound, and quietly peeked through the slightly open door.
[Ah, ah! Haaaah—!!]
At that moment, I thought my eardrums would burst from the sharp, scream-like high-pitched cry. However, I couldn’t tear my gaze away from the scene unfolding inside the iron door.
That place, too, was a dark room with no windows and no light. There was only one piece of furniture in the spacious room: a wide bed.
On that bed, a woman’s body lay with her legs wide open, her back twisted grotesquely, convulsing as if in a fit. Her eyes were rolled back.
“Gasp…”
Her mouth and face, opened in what seemed like a mixture of pain and pleasure, were covered in a hazy liquid. Red spots, like blemishes, were vividly visible on her fair, delicate skin, making it feel almost obscene.
And on top of the naked woman, a man was grinding his penis deep between her legs, thrusting his hips roughly. Thwack! Thwack! The sound of wet flesh colliding was so vivid it almost hurt. The woman’s legs trembled in the air, shaking uncontrollably with the man’s relentless movements.
Even more surprising than the woman was the man’s appearance. The man, with his dark, grayish skin, looked just like a normal human. However, he had pointed, goat-like horns sprouting from his head, and a long, black tail attached to his buttocks.
“Isn’t that a demon?”
No matter how I looked at it, that appearance was definitely that of a demon from the underworld, as I had seen in books. The woman seemed like a normal human, though. What is all this?
