Summary
Evelyn fell in love with her husband at first sight during their arranged marriage. A month into their marriage, he left for the battlefield, leaving her alone to bear his child.
Then came a devastating revelation: her father had betrayed her husband. Before Evelyn could process the news, her cold-hearted father was already trying to marry her off again—this time to a cruel old man who had killed four of his previous wives.
Desperate to survive with her child, Evelyn offers her husband a deal:
“I’ll help you sleep… Let’s make a deal.”
“I don’t know what kind of deal this is, but fine, I’ll accept it.”
Haunted by insomnia, Ilya instinctively seeks Evelyn for relief. Though scarred by betrayal, Evelyn still finds her heart racing whenever she’s near him. As they spend more time together, Ilya’s feelings of betrayal and hatred begin to thaw. Slowly, the winter that had frozen his heart gives way to spring.
“You’ve won, Evelyn. Whether I was just a replacement for my brother or not… it doesn’t matter anymore.”
A passionate tale of love unfolds between Ilya and Evelyn as they navigate pain, betrayal, and redemption. Will Evelyn succeed in escaping the man who realized his love too late? Or will their intertwined fates lead them back to each other?
